How to Make a Wreath from a Placemat

Gambar
Hi there! Today I'm going to show you how easy it is to make a wreath from a placemat. I found two round cork placemats at a junk shop, and got them for free! The owner wanted/needed to clean things out, and I guess she thought a set of only two placemats would be hard to sell. (They probably are.) So I snagged them up before she could change her mind, and knew just what I wanted to do with one of them. I hot glued some picture hangers to the back like so: Then I tied on a pretty red ribbon and voila! A "wreath" that cost $1.29 (for the picture hangers) and took all of 5 minutes. Now this is the kind of craft I have time for lately. So what's hanging on your door this Christmas? Summer Wreaths to DIY

Hi there! I made a quick and easy embellishment for a sunflower wreath I purchased that I want to share with you. Nothing fancy, just some brown ticking striped fabric cut into the shape of a little flag, which I glued some rope to. Then I free-handed our last initial on it with some black fabric paint. I must confess, I often purchase basic floral wreaths, and spruce them up with ribbons, nests, and other stuff to make them look customized as a way to save some time. It's not too late to make a summer wreath for your front door! If you need some more inspiration for ways to say welcome, check out these 10 Summer Wreaths over on my Home Accessories site. My favorite is the bicycle wreath, but they're all great. What's your fave? Here are some other inexpensive and easy things I've DIYd for our front door! Rain Boot Wreath Placemat Door Hanging

Rain Boot Wreath

Hi there! Over the weeeknd, I had a spark of inspiration when I spotted my daughter's old rain boots in the garage. She's outgrown them...why not use them on the front door to celebrate April showers? I simply cleaned them up, stuck in some artificial tulips, and tied them onto a navy and white chevron ribbon. I let the color of the boots inspire the yellow and navy color color scheme, but how cute would this be with a pair of red rain boots? I hope you like my rain boot wreath! Winter Wreath

One of my favorite things about winter is the sight of a cardinal in the snow. That's what inspired me to make this winter wreath for our front door. This little guy was perched near the top of our Christmas tree this year, but before I packed him away, I gave him new life on this DIY wreath that has gone through many incarnations thanks to Velcro dots. If you've ever made a yarn wreath before, you know the wrapping can be tedious. After making one, I thought I'd try to get as much mileage out of it as I could by using Velcro dots to change out the felt flowers and other embellishments. I have to say, its most recent look is one of my favorites, and it's only by coincidence that it just so happens to be in the right colors for the college football championship game coming up on January 12. ...We've been waiting for youuuu...Where the kisses are...Ok, I'll stop. It's late, and I just finished paying bills (oh joy), and now I'm scheduling one last post for the week we're on vacation. I must love blogging a lot, huh? Anyhoo, I'm introducing a HMM new series to you with this post. I couldn't resist naming it after one of my favorite sitcoms of all time. And it's gonna feature (what else?) what's hanging on our front door. I love decorating this spot because for some reason, I have 101 ideas for things to make for it, and they're all inexpensive and easy. I just took down this wreath, which I found at HomeGoods for $13. It's made of paper butterflies. Love! And now, I've got this up. Can I just say, I love a black door? It makes colors stand out really well. Anyway, I WISH I could take credit for this door hanging because it's brilliant, but I can't. I bought it at the Springfield (OH) Antique and Flea Market ...
