Valentine's Day Desserts

Gambar
Over the years, I've made a few yummy desserts for Valentine's Day. I'm not gonna lie. I don't need another excuse to bake, but Valentine's Day does afford another opportunity to indulge my weakness. Thankfully, we have a couple of daughters who love sweets as much as I do, or I'd be about 50 pounds heavier! In my eyes, baking something from scratch is one way to show someone you love them. So...here are a handful of desserts that are perfect for February 14th. Hi there! How are you today? So, do you have big plans for Valentine's Day? Our kids are busy addressing their class valentines and I'll be helping out with some class parties. As a family, we may do some fondue that evening, but we typically don't celebrate this particular holiday in a BIG big way. Did you see my Valentine chalkboard art , though? I love how it turned out. Here are some other really pretty Valentine decorations for your front door. I tried to find some unique ones for you. via via via via via via via via via via via Pinterest (source unknown) via via via via Home Made Modern Here are some other Valentine crafts you may have missed: Vintage Valentine Crafts DIY Valentine Art Red and Blue Valentine Decor

Valentine Chalkboard Art

Gambar
Hi guys! Do you still have a Christmas wreath on your front door? Well, I've got a 10-minute solution to THAT particular problem! It's almost Valentine's Day, so yesterday I whipped up this cute chalkboard art for our door. It was so easy, guys, and it literally only took about 10 minutes. First, I found this great magnetic chalkboard at Jo-Anns for 50% off, so it was only $4.50. It had an unfinished wood frame so I brushed a little stain I had left over from another project on it to make it look more rustic. While that was drying, I went in search of more craft supplies. I had a package of paper doilies, so that inspired me. I just cut out a red heart and glued it to the doily. After the frame of the chalkboard was dry, I flipped it over and stapled some rope to the back for a hanger. Next I wiped the whole chalkboard with an eraser to "season" it (here are some more tips on how to create chalkboard art ), then wrote "Welcome" on it in Janda ...

Sweetie Pies

It's almost Valentine's Day! I don't know about you, but my favorite thing about this holiday is the desserts! Valentine treats are supposed to be sinfully delicious, and while I'm usually all about dark chocolate on February 14, I had the idea to make these little heart-shaped hand pies this year because I happened to have some pie dough in the freezer already. You could definitely use store-bought pie dough for these, but if you want to make pie dough from scratch , try my Grandma's perfect pie crust recipe. After you roll out the dough, use a circular cookie cutter to cut 12 rounds in the dough. Then, use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut a heart in the center of 6 of the circles. These will be your tops. For the filling: Combine: 2 c. frozen, unsweetened tart red cherries 3/4 c. sugar 1 T. quick-cooking tapioca 1/8 tsp. almond extract Mix well, and let stand for about an hour, or until they form a juice. (I'm usually too impatient to wait...

Blue and Red Valentine Decorations

Gambar
Hey there! Happy Monday! Have you undecorated for Christmas yet? I have to do a decoration detox for a bit after the holidays. I keep the decor to a minimum, but around now, I start to think about Valentine's Day decorations. I think it's hard to work with red and pink since our house is mostly blue, gray and green. But these blue and red Valentine craft ideas would look great in our house, and maybe yours, too! via via via via via via via via via You May Also Like: Key to Our Hearts Valentine Art DIY Heart Crayons Grilled Chocolate Marshmallow Sandwiches Vintage Valentine Crafts
