Pinterest: Easy Fall Decorating Ideas

Ah...fall. We had another 90-plus degree day here and lemme just say: I'm over it. I'm ready for cooler weather. I'm sure I will regret saying this when it's 5 below and there's a 2-foot snow drift on our porch, but that's the beauty of northeast Ohio. Sick of the weather? Wait around and it will change. Anyhoo, enough about that. One of the REAL reasons I'm excited for fall is for the chance to buy mums and pumpkins. Here are some other ideas I'm excited to try, inspiration courtesy of Pinterest . Pressed leaves in floating frames-- Better Homes and Gardens Love the leaf bouquet and the pears-- HGTV A rake is a great alternative to a wreath-- Common Ground I'm coveting some white pumpkins this year-- Hooked on Houses Ravens for Halloween-- Woman's Day Plaid pumpkins-- Better Homes and Gardens Love this burlap wreath--Unknown Another take on leaf luminaries-- Sunset What a pretty mantel; I think I might need to use some photography this y...

Things to Bake and Make for Valentine's Day on Pinterest

Hey, I'm here today showing you some of the great things popping up on Pinterest for Valentine's Day. As always, I look in awe and amazement at all of the creativity (and spare time!) out there. Nevertheless, it doesn't stop me from trying to create some semblance of this in our home. You should SEE (and you probably will at some point) the paper heart garland we made today in an effort to quell our heebie-jeebies (we are stuck at home due to a sick kid). Hilarious. Anyway, here are some of the more pulled-together ideas from our favorite inspiration place! Tissue-paper-covered votives from Homemade Serenity Anthropologie-inspired snow globes from WhipperBerry Conversation heart tree by My Heart's Desire Cookie pops from Pizzazzerie Valentine M&M blondies by Baked Perfection Paper doily garland from Are So Happy Be Mine banner from 320 Sycamore More Valentine votives (and doilies) from Crescendoh For more fun Valentine pins, or to follow my other Pinterest boa...

Pinterest: Thanksgiving Inspiration

Gambar
Now, that our Halloween hangover has passed and what's left of the candy has been stashed in the pantry, I'm ready to tackle the next holiday. We're hosting Thanksgiving for my husband's side of the family this year, which has spurred on a myriad of projects, not least of which is a built-in in our foyer to house coats and purses. More on that later. But for now, check out my Pinterest board for Thanksgiving table and craft inspiration. Here are some of the ideas: This table is more formal than what we'd do, but oh how gorgeous it is. I love the addition of blue to the fall-ish color scheme. This guy would be a great way to get the little ones involved in decorating the table. Love, love, love, brown transferware. These pictures would be nice year-round but are particularly nice for the dining room on Turkey Day. In case you can't read this, it says: "It's not having what you want. It's wanting what you have." A good reminder... Love this...

Today it finally feels like fall. The rain has dispersed (for now), the sky is blue, and the colors are brightening up outside. Here are the some of the pins from my Fall Decor Pinterest board. If you haven't felt very fall-ish yet, maybe this will help get you in the mood for apple cider and doughnuts, trick or treating, pumpkin picking, and football. If you like what you see here, check out my Pinterest board for more ideas. Love the idea of having a chalkboard at the front door that you could write something seasonal on every couple of months. I love black front doors, especially in the fall. This simple monogrammed door plaque looks spooky by stylish. Individual s'more packs with a ghost-ly Peep as the marshmallow. Too cute! Martha Stewart's leafy luminaries A feather wreath Jack-o-"lanterns" I've been wanting to do this to our front door but just haven't found the time. Great idea! Find some pumpkins at the dollar store to glitter. Can't go wrong ...
