Chicken Cheese Steak

Gambar
Hi guys! I've got a great recipe for you today. These simple chicken cheese steak sandwiches are perfect on a night when you don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I've made them several times, with just some kettle chips and a pickle on the side, and the plates are licked clean. Here's what you need to do: Chicken Cheese Steaks 2 chicken breasts 1 red or yellow bell paper, sliced 1 small onion, sliced 5-6 slices of provolone cheese, cut into strips hoagie buns mayonnaise Sprinkle the chicken with kosher salt and ground pepper, then cook over medium heat in a little olive oil until browned and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and let rest. Meanwhile, add the sliced vegetables to the same pan and saute over medium heat, stirring often, until crisp-tender. While the vegetables are cooking, slice the hoagie buns and spread mayo on them. Then, slice the chicken. When the vegetables are done, add the chicken back to the pan and stir. Place th

Cafe Curtains from Kitchen Towels

Gambar
We've lived in our house for over four years, and I just hung kitchen curtains. Our kitchen renovation has taken a long time, you see, and we're still not done...but I'm at least to the point where I can do some of the fun things. For me, fun means finding a way to make kitchen curtains for $10 or less. I found a tension rod and some kitchen towels at Target for $3.59 and $2.99 each, respectively. Hmmmm...a set of cafe curtain rings was $4.99 and I needed two sets, so I decided to pass on those, and just hem the towels with a small pocket for the rod. I found it easier to just sew the hem, but if you don't have a sewing machine or avoid sewing at all costs, you could use fusible hemming tape. After positioning the rod where I wanted it, I draped the towels over the rod and pinned them where I needed to sew the pocket. Then I took them off the rod, sewed them, and cut off the excess material below the seam. I love the stripes at the bottom of these towels...they

Blue and Red Valentine Decorations

Gambar
Hey there! Happy Monday! Have you undecorated for Christmas yet? I have to do a decoration detox for a bit after the holidays. I keep the decor to a minimum, but around now, I start to think about Valentine's Day decorations. I think it's hard to work with red and pink since our house is mostly blue, gray and green. But these blue and red Valentine craft ideas would look great in our house, and maybe yours, too! via via via via via via via via via You May Also Like: Key to Our Hearts Valentine Art DIY Heart Crayons Grilled Chocolate Marshmallow Sandwiches Vintage Valentine Crafts

Where to Buy Cheap Area Rugs

Gambar
Hi guys! I put together a list of places to shop for cheap area rugs the other day on About . Now...by cheap, I mean inexpensive. Not tacky. Or flimsy. By the same token, these aren't woven by Trappists in the Himalayans out of alpaca wool, either. (I know, none of those things are actually linked, but it was a fun sentence to write.) You get my point, though, right? If you're looking for an affordable area rugs with lots of style, here's your chance. And hurry, because a few of these retailers are holding 75-80% off sales in January! Say WHAT?! Affordable Area Rugs (How to Cover More with Less)

Knock Off: Z Gallerie Ming Box

Gambar
Hey, hey! I'm really proud of my latest knock off. Z Gallerie's Ming Boxes were just the thing I needed to corral all of the chargers on our nightstand, but I didn't want to pay $59.95 for a set of them. Besides, I only needed one. So with a few craft supplies and some patience, I made my own decorative storage box and it looks very similar to the ones I coveted. What do you think? Theirs $59.95 Mine $12 Here's how I made it: Z Gallerie Ming Box Knock Off Nap Rating = 2 naps (not including dry-time) Tools & Materials Unfinished, hinged wooden box Painter's tape Spray primer and paint in color of your choice Printer Cardboard Craft knife Gold leaf paint pen Glue Small paintbrush Steps Tape off the hinges using painter's tape. I tore off a piece of tape and pressed it firmly all along the hinge's edges so I could see where to score the tape with my knife. Then I peeled away the excess. Prime the box with spray primer. Let dry. Spray the box with
