Good morning! I hope it's warming up where you live...we're going to enjoy temps in the low 50s today, which will feel like a heat wave! Over the weekend, I got out my paint brush and finally completed a job that's been left hanging for way too long. I painted the bookcase at the end of our new kitchen peninsula. Then, I adhered some contact paper leftover from another project to some foam board for the back of the bookcase. I am so happy to cross this project off of my list because it has been an eyesore as just a dumping ground for all the things that haven't had a proper home. Now, it's nice and organized and I'm vowing to keep it that way.

As you can see here, I also stained the supports under our counter to match our flooring. I love the way it looks with our industrial stools.

The inspiration for finally getting this done came in the form of this pretty little piece of kitchen art, provided by the Darren Gygi Home Collection.

I just love the colors in this artwork. The piece I was graciously given is just one of hundreds in the Darren Gygi Home Collection, available at many retailers nationwide. You can find collections of art related to food (perfect for kitchens), botanicals, birds, the beach, holidays and many more. I had a hard time choosing, but settled on this one of bread because I loved the colors, and it reminds me of baking bread with our daughters. Lazy Susan Coffee Station

Hey, hello, how are ya? I finished up a couple of projects in our never-ending kitchen reno this weekend and boy, does it feel good to check stuff off the list. First off, I finally got around to organizing our coffee supplies in one corner of our counter by upcycling an old lazy susan. I made a coffee station on top of the lazy susan and put it next to our Keurig so everything would be nice and handy. Oh, and I used an old mug tree I bought for a buck at a sidewalk sale, too. All I did to make it look cohesive is spray paint both the lazy susan and the mug tree with white spray paint, then I decoupaged a piece of decorative paper the same color as our turquoise coffee mugs to the top of the lazy susan using Mod Podge. I added my cow creamer and a sugar packet holder for tea bags and voila! I love that I can spin the lazy susan to access mugs hanging on the back of the mug tree. Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups

Did you know Halloween is the third most popular holiday in America, topped only by Thanksgiving and Christmas? If you have kids, this probably comes as no surprise. Children anticipate Halloween almost as wildly as Christmas morning, mostly because of the candy, but also because of the fun class parties and costume parades that happen each year at school. I often volunteer for our kids' class parties because it's so fun to see all of the cuties in their costumes. Here's a Halloween class treat idea for you: Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups Steps Tear the foil lids off of the pudding cups and line them up on a rimmed cookie sheet or tray to make them easier to carry. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumbs (you can use finely-crushed Oreos if you can't find the boxed kind) on top of the pudding.
