Hi there, friends! Welcome to another edition of Tightwad Tuesday here on Home Made Modern! I absolutely love decorating with Goodwill finds. I hit the jackpot the last time I went thrifting in terms of finding good glassware and dishes to make over. You may recall, I put some glam touches on a wine decanter, and I also found this silver bowl. It had a great shape, but it was really scratched up and even had some small dents.

Nothing a little spray paint can't fix, right? At first, I thought I'd just spray it silver or gold, but then I was inspired by this Nate Berkus laurel leaf bowl from Target. It's no longer available, but I had really liked it when I saw it. I would never spend $30, though, on something like a bowl, so I watched for it to go on clearance, but missed the boat. Never fear!

I sprayed my Goodwill find white instead and used a stencil I already had to create a tiny laurel leaf pattern around the outside of the bowl.  I also painted the rim with gold paint.

Right now it's filled with green apples, but I can think of so many uses for it around the house. And it would look great around the holidays, too.

Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups

Did you know Halloween is the third most popular holiday in America, topped only by Thanksgiving and Christmas? If you have kids, this probably comes as no surprise. Children anticipate Halloween almost as wildly as Christmas morning, mostly because of the candy, but also because of the fun class parties and costume parades that happen each year at school. I often volunteer for our kids' class parties because it's so fun to see all of the cuties in their costumes. Here's a Halloween class treat idea for you: Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups Steps Tear the foil lids off of the pudding cups and line them up on a rimmed cookie sheet or tray to make them easier to carry. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumbs (you can use finely-crushed Oreos if you can't find the boxed kind) on top of the pudding. Blue and Red Valentine Decorations

Hey there! Happy Monday! Have you undecorated for Christmas yet? I have to do a decoration detox for a bit after the holidays. I keep the decor to a minimum, but around now, I start to think about Valentine's Day decorations. I think it's hard to work with red and pink since our house is mostly blue, gray and green.
