A Thanksgiving Wish



Hope you are taking the day off from blogging to spend time with your loved ones this Thanksgiving Day. Enjoy! You deserve it!

What I'm thankful for:

  • My husband, who can build stuff and looks great doing it, who is the best person in the world to enjoy happy hour with, and who is a world-class dad
  • Our girls, who are just super-cool, funny and kind human beings and bring immeasureable joy to our lives
  • Our house, which is warm most of the time, except when the furnace acts up
  • Our businesses, which allow us to make enough money to pay for repairs to said furnace, feed our family, and even have a little fun now and then...and keep us excited to "go to work" each day
  • Our health
  • Our family and our motley crew of friends, who stick by us even though we're crazy-busy and sometimes a little flaky
  • And the little things...like warm socks, dark chocolate, cups of coffee, a good book, a glass of wine, and chips and guac.

Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups

Did you know Halloween is the third most popular holiday in America, topped only by Thanksgiving and Christmas? If you have kids, this probably comes as no surprise. Children anticipate Halloween almost as wildly as Christmas morning, mostly because of the candy, but also because of the fun class parties and costume parades that happen each year at school. I often volunteer for our kids' class parties because it's so fun to see all of the cuties in their costumes. Here's a Halloween class treat idea for you: Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups Steps Tear the foil lids off of the pudding cups and line them up on a rimmed cookie sheet or tray to make them easier to carry. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumbs (you can use finely-crushed Oreos if you can't find the boxed kind) on top of the pudding. Put four waffle-style pretzels around the perimeter of each pudding cup to look like a fence. Put a candy-corn pumpkin in the center of each "pumpkin patch." Remember to brin

Hey there! Happy Monday! Have you undecorated for Christmas yet? I have to do a decoration detox for a bit after the holidays. I keep the decor to a minimum, but around now, I start to think about Valentine's Day decorations. I think it's hard to work with red and pink since our house is mostly blue, gray and green.
