Craft of the Week: Pinwheel Garland

Pinwheels are so spring-y, aren't they? Such a simple toy--like kites--that give such a thrill to little ones and all they require is an April breeze. There's just something about the colors against the vivid blue of a spring sky, too. We flew our kite yesterday; it was a great day for it. Almost TOO windy. I love this craft from Organize and Decorate Everything because it combines the retro style of an old-fashioned pinwheel with the ever-popular garland idea. Plus, your kids can totally help with this.



I couldn't, however, find instructions for how to make the pinwheels, but I figured good 'ol Martha would have a tutorial, and she did...

Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups

Did you know Halloween is the third most popular holiday in America, topped only by Thanksgiving and Christmas? If you have kids, this probably comes as no surprise. Children anticipate Halloween almost as wildly as Christmas morning, mostly because of the candy, but also because of the fun class parties and costume parades that happen each year at school. I often volunteer for our kids' class parties because it's so fun to see all of the cuties in their costumes. Here's a Halloween class treat idea for you: Pumpkin Patch Pudding Cups Steps Tear the foil lids off of the pudding cups and line them up on a rimmed cookie sheet or tray to make them easier to carry. Sprinkle chocolate cookie crumbs (you can use finely-crushed Oreos if you can't find the boxed kind) on top of the pudding. Hey there! Happy Monday! Have you undecorated for Christmas yet? I have to do a decoration detox for a bit after the holidays. I keep the decor to a minimum, but around now, I start to think about Valentine's Day decorations. I think it's hard to work with red and pink since our house is mostly blue, gray and green.
